I’m Garrath, a counsellor dedicated to helping people build resilience, clarity, and connection in their lives.
As a father of eight, cancer survivor, and long-time carer, I know what it feels like to face overwhelming challenges. These lived experiences shape the way I work — blending professional training with real-world understanding.
For more than 13 years, I’ve also mentored men and young people through programs like Men’s Wellbeing, Mentoring Men, and the Raise Foundation. I specialise in supporting those who feel unheard or disconnected, helping them rediscover hope and purpose.
Your first 30-minute session is free. It’s a chance to see if I’m the right counsellor for you.
Either way, you’ll walk away with more clarity.
After the first 30 minutes, you have two choices: We can discuss if I'm the right counsellor for you and we will continue as a full session, or I'm happy to recommend other counsellors, if you prefer who may offer you a better fit than me.
Sometimes waiting isn’t an option.
If you need to talk today, I offer same-day emergency sessions (1.5 hrs) so we can ease the intensity and work through what’s happening right now. Sessions are flexible — we can go deeper or finish earlier depending on your comfort.

My counselling supports clients through a wide range of challenges — from anxiety, depression, and relationship difficulties to major life transitions and struggles with self-worth. I specialise in working with those who feel isolated or misunderstood, creating a safe space to rediscover connection, clarity, and resilience.

Yes, I offer both in-person and online sessions. Online counselling can be a convenient option if you’re unable to meet in person or prefer the comfort of your own space.
Yes, confidentiality is a fundamental part of my practice. All sessions are private and confidential, with information only shared if there is a risk to your safety or the safety of others. I’ll discuss these limits of confidentiality with you in the first session.
I offer a specialised two-day intensive workshop for couples who want to strengthen their relationship and resolve ongoing challenges. Delivered across two long sessions, this approach provides the safe, structured time needed to explore difficult issues without rushing. Each partner will have the space to be fully heard and understood, while working towards rediscovering common ground and creating a shared plan for the future. The focus is on building deeper understanding and a clear, practical path forward — whatever that looks like for you as a couple.
